Example prompts
A single heron standing in shallow water, a few reeds, wide empty space, wet ink blooms on rice paper
A small fishing boat on a misty river beneath tall cliffs, minimal brushstrokes, a red seal in the corner
Bamboo stalks bending in the wind, dry brush texture on the leaves, plenty of blank paper around them
A lone traveler walking toward a mountain temple in snow, pale grey washes, one red umbrella as the only color
Tips for better results
- Keep the subject simple, one bamboo stalk, one heron, one boat, and say you want empty space; crowded prompts fight the minimal look.
- Use 2:3 or 9:16 for a hanging scroll feel, or 3:2 for a horizontal handscroll composition.
- Mention the brush quality you want, such as dry brush, wet blooming ink or a few bold strokes, to control texture.
Questions
What is the difference between the Ink and Guofeng presets?
Ink is monochrome brushwork on rice paper with lots of empty space and one vermilion accent. Guofeng is a full-color digital painting with gold line details and a celadon and vermilion palette.
Can I add calligraphy to the painting?
FLUX.2 Dev (3 credits per image) is the model that can render text. For important calligraphy, many people add it by hand or in an editor afterward.
